Recalibration...Doubling.Up?

I'll be doing Introduction to Marketing this semester. Cool huh? A subject like that in an IT degree. *Hehe* I chose that over some general paper as I want to learn a bit more on the business side.

I'm also thinking about a double-degree. I thought maybe to double up with some lightweight business knowledge to supplement my IT skills. However, I was told that there are only two majors being offered in my faculty - Software Development and IT Management. My college recommended me to take 2 more units to get a minor in IT Management. Hmm... sounds like a good bargain.

My friend who works in the college also recommended Master of Science in Strategic Business Information Technology by University of Portsmouth *What you guys think? Good ah?*. She said it is a 100% practical course - means I got to do thesis lor.

Well, after my previous exam and all that "Leaking Barrel" thoughts, I feel like I want to learn, read and acquire more on those which I termed as non-volatile knowledge or durable knowledge. Of course, that doesn't mean I will ignore the growing technology developments. I will just need to do some recalibration on my mindset.

*Not sure how long I can stick to this new thought of mine*

Cool Serena!

Goodluck with it. I've actually been thinking about taking up a business diploma in the next year or so.

Why? Well, I think having that knowledge helps when you are out on site and are talking to clients who don't know about IT. You can compare things in terms they can understand much easier.

It's easy to talk IT to another IT person, but it's not easy talking IT to non-IT people. (It can be frustrating at times). But having that other knowledge, you can put it in terms they can understand I guess.

Thanx Wil *HuGs*. Wish me luck! I hope I can handle it just like how I handled the other subjects. :)
